Landscape Shots of North Toronto

Landscape Shots: North Toronto

I’m sitting on the couch in my condo at Yonge and Eglinton and I’m extremely bored. My girlfriend is out for the day, my cable tv and internet are down and there’s nothing to do, so I pick up a book. After reading only half a page, I’m starting to fall asleep. As my eyes are closing I notice my tripod out of the corner of my eye. It was setup beside the window in the den from the night before when I was taking long exposure shots of the view from my balcony. This gave me an idea, photography + adventure time!

You don’t need an assignment or photography job to take pictures, heck you don’t even need specific things to take pictures of, just get out there and take pictures of anything/everything you feel looks interesting!!

That’s exactly what I did on October 15th, 2011. With my Canon EOS T1i body and Canon 18-55mm EF-S lens I walked around North Toronto taking pictures of anything which caught my eye. Starting at Yonge and Eglinton I headed south to Davisville then East to Bayview and then continued south until I ran out of time. Walking for two hours there and nearly an hour on the way back, I took almost 200 photos. Of those I chose 37 pictures to be displayed in the gallery called My Walk Around North Toronto.

I had no idea that some of these “picture perfect” locations existed until I decided to venture out and explore the outdoors. So I am encouraging all of you to do the same!

Get out there, create your own adventure and don’t forget to take pictures along the way!
